“For these slight and momentary troubles are preparing us
for an eternal weight of glory that is beyond all measures.”
2 Corinthians 4:17
This is the verse that I
clung to while I was in Philly. Our youth group drove 700 miles away to
Philadelphia, PN for a mission trip. It was an amazing experience, one where
you could clearly see that God was at work.
Memorizing this verse and
working through some of the situations and smaller aspects of the trip helped
change my overall mindset that I have. So basically it changed the way I think.
I realized that you have to be ready for
missions all of the time—meaning you always have to be ready to share God’s
word, because in today’s world, not only is it hard, but everything from specific
events and things people say to you can catch you off guard.
“But
in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to
everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do
this with gentleness and respect…” 1
Peter 3:15
That's true, you do have to be ready for missions all the time.
